Lake side prairie fen. Mostly Cyperaceae, Cornus, and button bush dominated marl zone with some Asteraceae and Dasiphora fruticosa near the wooded borders. Invaded by Phragmites, Phalaris arundinacea, and Frangula alnus. In large southern section of fen, in southeastern portion, 50m west of wooded upland border, 40m northeast of a large patch of 2m or more tall trees and shrubs. Area dominated by Cladium mariscoides with Spartina pectinata, Iris, Lysimachia quadriflora, Verbensina alternifolia, and 1m tall Sambucus canadensis saplings every 4-9m2. Soil marly and moist, thick layer of dead vegetation. Some Frangula alnus in area.
Population - Common, less than 1.5m tall. Some dried and fruiting stalks remaining.
