Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Wet n' weedy; this area on upstream (south) side of northern lake. Shrubs and trees common including Larix laricina, Toxicodendron vernix, Carex sericea, and Salix spp. Many "wet" species include Carex lacustris, Typha latifolia. Sagittaria latifolia, and Leersia oryzoides. Other common species include Eutrochium maculatum Thelypteris palustris, and Galium asprellum.
