A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. On the east bank of a north-south running stream. 200m west of railroad. Dominated by Salix and grasses with some Asteraceae and Onoclea sensibilis. Ground wet, some standing water and pools in footsteps. Many 3cm diameter limbs on ground (3 layers).
Population - Clumped, not common in quadrats but predominent in surrounding area. Population clump located east of quadrat. 1.5m tall.
