Flowers: perianth segments 5, distinct nearly to base; lobes ovate, farinose, prominently keeled, splaying open and dehiscing at fruit maturity; stamens 5; stigmas 2. Achenes; pericarp adherent (nonadherent near stylar base), alveolate honeycomb pitted. Seeds depressed-ovoid, approximately 2 mm diam., black and rugose
