Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Weeds in a poor quality buck wheat field, most collected from mowed circles around and paths between duck blinds; field mowed in August, the bent over and cut-off grasses now re-emerging, some forming new heads under water or a little above water surface; field now entirely flooded 25 cm deep to attract ducks. Billion-dollar grass, Japanese millet. Distinctive variety native fo se Asia: a course annual not persisting outside of cultivation. There are now only five -- three apparently spontaneous, two probably cult.-- specimens from Wisconsin in WIS. This species is sometimes used for poultry feed or in bird seed mixes, and more recently has been recommended for growing in wetlands for waterfowl. Very few plants here now, these probably volunteers from a previous crop.
