Habitat: This is a stony arroyo, with permanent water, which is bordered by cliffs of volcanic rock. Side canyons, and other areas protected from flooding, have a dense evergreen forest. Bordering dry slopes are covered by short tree forest. Growing in moist soil along the river.
Associated Species: Taxodium, Pisonia, Guazuma, Ficus, and etc, Acacia, Fouquieria, Bursera, Jatropha. and etc.
