Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Inundated area dominated by Carex stricta, Agrostis gigantea. Shrubs include Cornus sericea, Salix, Toxicodendron vernix. Other species include Sagittaria latifolia, Carex aquatilis, Thelypteris palustris, Eutrochium maculatum. Located about 10m from stream edge.
