Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Poaceae dominated region in northern portion of prairie fen; shrub encroachment to the north and south; about 25m west of Little Lime Lake and about 10m SSW of medium sized Juniperus virginiana. Grasses in area include Sorghastrum nutans, Andropogon gerardii, Bromus pubescens, and Sporobolus heterolepis. Other species include Dasiphora fruticosa, Liatris spicata, and Daucus carota. Ground moist but not wet.
