Habitat: Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Norther portion of prairie fen; potential high quality prairie dominated area; currently suffers from shrub encroachment by Frangula alnus. Many Larix laricina trees in area, all of which are <15m tall; Dasiphora fruticosa is abundant along with Andropogon gerardii, Valeriana uliginosa and Thelypteris palustris. Other species in area include Muhlenbergia glomerata, Schoenoplectus acutus, and Carex sterilis. Ground moist but not wet; about 50m north and west of Little Goose Creek.
