Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Weedy area in middle of prairie fen; about 10m south of Little Goose Creek; area dominated by Carex lasiocarpa and Lythrum salicaria; some shrubs in area by creek which include Cornus sericea, Salix spp. And Frangula alnus. Other common species in area include Agrostis gigantea, Eutrochium maculatum, Carex retrorsa, Persicaria hydropiperoides, and Schoenoplectus acutus. Ground very wet but not inundated.
