Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. On east side of fen, about center north-south, 100m west of deer blind and cement fence pillar, near aspen tree and larger creek. Large creek runs northwest-southeast about 5m south of quadrat. Area dominated by Carex, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Cornus. Typha stand 3m east of quadrat. The composition stretches 60m2 - 100m2. Ground tussocky and wet smaller creek less than 1m from quadrat.
