Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. 15m east of stream; open meadow with many Rhamnus alnifolia shrubs; also Toxicodendron vernix, Betula pumila, and Cornus sericea. Iris virignica in area; soils most but not inundated; 5m southwest of Larix laricina; 15m north of taller shrub area
