Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Inundated flat/sedge meadow on shrub encroached edge; Cornus sericea is dominant shrub followed by Toxicodendron vernix. C. stricta and Poaceae CP136 dominate. Schoenoplectus acutus very common. Symphyotrichum puniceum and Eutrochium maculatum present. Ground inundated except for C. stricta mounds. Many 2013 Lythrum salicaria heads.
