Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Inundated flat/sedge meadow. Many old Schoenoplectus acutus stems from last year; Dasiphora abundant in area; hummocky ground; about 20m west of thick shrubs and stream; about 30m southeast of Larix laricina individual; very open area approximately 200m long by 100m wide; metal stakes about 1m tall in area.
