Prairie fen mostly round in shape with large Typha pond/stream in center. Surrounded by wooded upland. Encroachment by shrubs (Cornus, Spiraea alba, Toxicodendron vernix), especially from the north. There are large patches of Typha, Lythrum salicaria, and Phalaris arundinacaea in the northeast. The northwest has amazingly low number of invasives seen. No signs of management but many tracks of trucks or ATVs. Also, many invasives (Phalaris arundinacea and Lythrum salicaria) along creek. Some Frangula alnus in the southwest. In southern portion of prairie fen, 350m north of southern border, 5m east of main stream, underneath a red cedar tree (Juniper virginiana) with cedar-apple rust. Area dominated by Carex and Poaceae with encroachment of Cornus, Rhamnus alnifolia, and Spiraea alba shrubs (3 shrubs or saplings per 1m2 within 15m of stream bank). Ground wet and hummocky.
