Inundated and dominated by Typha latifolia and Carex stricta. Located at west end of fen, area is farily diverse, but appears stressed. Dasiphora fruticosa present but dying. Mentha canadensis and Verbena hastata very common. Good Poweshiek area on south end of fen; relatively open with clumps of Larix laricina, Toxicodendron vernix and Betula pumila. Some Frangula alnus, Eleocharis rostellata, Dasiphora fruticosa, Carex lasiocarpa common. Ground slightly inundated.
