Prairie fen runs along Spring Mill Creek. Edges are wooded with oaks. Horribly overgrown with many large areas that were marked as fen, now dense shrub carr. 200m north of road in a stand of quaking aspen (15% canopy). Asteraceae and Carex with shrub layer of Cornus and Toxicodendron vernix and young quaking aspen. Ground moist to wet but not puddling.
Population - Clumped, common in area, 3-6 per 1m2 for 40m2, seen amongst Cornus, asters, sedges, Toxicodendron vernis and Lamiaceae.
