Small fen dominated by Carex. Several shrub zones of Cornus and a large wooded zone of Tamarack, Cornus, and poplur. Autumn olive encroaching on edges and some within fen on northern side. Nirdlingers maintain surrounding prairie. Homeowner to north manacures land in the lawn fashion to the edge of his property. 100m south of Typha stand and manicured pond on the north side of the fen. 150m from manicured lawn on the northeast side of the fen. Ground with hummocks 1/3m above peat mat/ground; standing water between hummocks and rivulet less than 1m to the west. Dominated by Carex stricta; some Typha sporadically placed. Last year's growth of Carex stricta and Typha hide hummocky ground.
Population - 2-4 individuals per 1m2 area for 100m2. Clumped population in standing water or extremely wet ground. Carex stricta is prominent surrounding vegetation.
