Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 25m west of lily pond south of the finger into Fay Lake. Open stand of tamarack, Betula pumila, and Toxicodendron vernix. Underneath, sedges and ferns dominate. Ground hummocky (10-25cm tall) and wet.
Population - Clumped, extremely common in area 5-15 per 1m2 for 50m2.
