A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. In wooded fen with 30m tall tamarack trees, shrub layer of Rhamnaceae, Toxicodendron vernix, and nanny berry. Ground cover is Carex sp., Rhamnaceae saplings, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Thelypteris palustris. Ground moist, not largely hummocky, no standing water.
Population - Clumped, common in area, very prominent, 3-7 individuals per 1m2 area for 40m2. Seen on moist/wet soil near buckthorn, Symplocarpus foetidus, Toxicodendron vernix, sedges, and Typha.
