A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. In wooded fen with 5-10% canopy cover. Near western edge of fen, 125m southwest of railroad, 50m west of the stream, in the central portion (north-south) of fen. Canopy is mostly tamarack and Populus with many Populus snags. Shrubs are mostly Toxicodendron vernix (1-4 per 4m2), Cornus, Betula pumila, and Salix. Groundcover is Carex, Eutrochium maculatum, and Thelypteris palustris. Ground with small hummocks, but +/- even and moist.
Population - Common in area. Flowering and fruiting.
