A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. 20m south of railroad, 50m east of Coon Lake Road (northern end of fen). Carex lacustris dominant with Betula pumila, Eutrochium maculatum, Typha, and Cornus. Ground +/- even and moist.
Population - Less than 1m tall. None flowering in area.
