Habitat: Locally frequent in very gravelly clay in slightly eroded but only very gently sloping site on undulating ridgetop of Edwards Limestone. Associates include Calylophus hartwegii, Castilleja sessiliflora, Chaetopappa ericoides, Chamaesyce lata, Cryptantha mexicana, Dalea formosa, Draba cuneifolia, Dyssodia acerosa, Gilia rigidula, Hymenoxys odorata, Lesquerella fendleri, Linum rigidum var. filifolium, Nolina texana, Plantago helleri, Tetraneuris scaposa, and Thamnosma texanum.
Reproductive Condition: flowering=early
