Locality: United States, Texas, CAMERON, E of Harlingen on highway 106, 4.5 mi. E of bend on 106 at Harlingen Air Force base. 0.3 mi. N of intersection with road marked to Port Harlingen. Elev. 30 ft.
Habitat: Dense thicket of spiny microphyllous shrubs above stream. Gray-brown silty sand. Prosopis p.-Pithecolobium sp.-Opuntia sp.-Zanthoxylum fag.-Bumelia cel. Shrub, 1.5 m.; Basal diam., 2 cm. Crown diam., 1 m. Densely branched. Bark gray, smooth. Some twigs end in very sharp spines. Fruits green.
Reproductive Condition: fruiting=late
