Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In approximant center of fen, 100m east of deer blind on stilts and cement fence post, 20m southeast of stand of 4-5 Larix laricina between two of the larger creeks, less than 15m from either creek. Cyperaceae and Dasiphora fruticosa dominated area with asters. An occasional shrub - either Toxicodendron vernix or Cornus - every 30-50m2. Ground uneven and tussocks in some places, moist but not puddling. Dead stalks of Schoenoplectus.
Population - clumped, 1-2 individuals per 4m2 found between Dasiphora fruticosa with Carex and Solidago ohioensis, no flowers.
