Small fen dominated by Carex. Several shrub zones of Cornus and a large wooded zone of Tamarack, Cornus, and poplur. Autumn olive encroaching on edges and some within fen on northern side. Nirdlingers maintain surrounding prairie. Homeowner to north manacures land in the lawn fashion to the edge of his property. Less than 100m from manicured lawn at northeast side of fen. One apple tree stands 40m southeast of quadrat. Very similar to quadrat 2. Vegetation dominated by Carex stricta, few short shrubs (Cornus) every 10m2, but mostly Carex stricta. Again, ground hummocky with standing water.
Population - growing on hummocks with Carex stricta. Erect when small, but recline on other vegetation when longer. The stem/leaves did not stick to my clothes. Flowering samples collected from site in August.
