Habitat: Soil characteristics: Kureb sand, 0 to 8 percent slopes (7) - very deep, excessviely drained, sandy soil on undulating, low ridges, knolls and old dunes in coastal lowlands. Classified as occurring as a part of the Sand Pine Scrub Ecological Community. Associate plant species: Eragrostis lugens, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Urochloa ramosa, Chamaecrista nictitans var. nictitans, Melochia corchorifolia, Callicarpa americana, Ipomoea cordatotriloba var. cordatotriloba, Aristida longispica var. geniculata, Croton glandulosus, Quercus laevis. Common.
